Office fit-out of a headquarter during ongoing operations
Canon is a modern company where the topics ‘workplace 4.0’ and ‘digital transformation’ play an important role. The future-oriented concept was aligned to the employees and their everyday work. It shall promote flexible working and attract young talents to join the company.
In cooperation with the specialist for real estate services JLL, Tétris supported Canon right from the beginning and helped them in the first phase of the project in taking a decision whether to “stay or go”. They convinced Canon that a fusion of two sites on the twelve thousand square metre-sized premises would be the best solution. The headquarters were redesigned and, despite the existing individual offices, an open space concept was implemented successfully. With communication spaces ranging from small meeting areas to large conference rooms, communication and collaboration have improved as there is now enough space for meetings and negotiations of any kind. A coffee bar in the reception area does not only invite people to stay a while, it also provides an inspiring meeting point for brain storming and informal meetings.
To realize the alteration while normal business operations were going on raised a special challenge. In addition to the alteration, Tétris was responsible for obtaining the construction permission, reorganizing the building services and developing an electrical design. Despite comprehensive fire-protection issues that only became apparent after the commencement of work, Tétris succeeded in keeping the deadline and in turning over the finished building to the satisfied customer by the end of 2016.
