Pharmaceutical office fit-out
With a move from cellular offices to an open plan neighbourhood environment, Tétris developed a workplace strategy for the new Allergan offices in Waterfall, Johannesburg. The process included a change management programme to ensure that the transition was a smooth one. The space showcases a muted colour palette with clean lines and a variety of tactile elements.
Being a multi-national pharmaceutical company, the design standards for the new Allergan offices were high – Tétris worked to localise these in terms of finishes and furnishings, ensuring that there was both a global appeal and local flavour.
Customising the global statndards for the local team, warmer finishes feature, with the introduction of timber, organic shaped rug, and mirrors in the reception.
The main boardroom has a traditional look and feel, while the smaller meeting rooms are a little bit more casual.
The open plan workstations were custom designed to the local team specifications, taking into account the move from cellular offices. Instead of open plan bench workstations, cubicles allow for more privacy. Each department chose colours for their desk screens based on the Allergan colour palette. The breakaway spaces are more casual in design, with authentic elements, including a concrete table, and locally designed lights suspended above the dining table.
